Stories/Function
Noren serves as a primary protagonist in the narrative of Fierce. Originally introduced as a simple fisherman from the isolated island of Straven, his discovery as a Hero of divine lineage shifts the story toward a conflict of global stakes. He functions as a moral anchor for Yngvild Helgasdotir, providing a calm, disciplined contrast to the more volatile political environment of Kronstadt and the southern kingdoms.
Description
Noren is an exceptionally tall and strong young man, possessing a “V-shaped” physique with broad shoulders tapering down to a muscled frame developed through years of rowing. He has fair hair, gleaming blue eyes, and is notably clean-shaven, earning him the ironic nickname “The Dwarf” or “Bjorn the Beardless” among the elder residents of Straven.
Raised as a foundling by Old Bjorn, Noren grew into a highly competent fisherman and navigator. He is characterized by his promptness, professionalism, and a strict adherence to social norms and decency. He possesses a natural charisma and a divine talent for timing, often appearing exactly when significant events are about to unfold.
Following his departure from Straven, it was revealed that he is the son of Alfarinn, a demi-god of jorunn, and Rojden, a renegade Hero. This heritage grants him rapid learning abilities and significant strength, though it also made him a target for his father. During the Cottalemese invasion, he was subjected to an involuntary geas by Rojden, which nearly cost him his life before being broken by a divine sacrifice at estreham. He has since been initiated into the mysteries of Jorunn, focusing his divine affinity on “the Lost and Found.”
Marriage and Scandal
Noren is deeply committed to Yngvild Helgasdotir, Old Bjorn's foster daughter. While no formal marriage has been recorded, the two are considered together by their community and share a powerful romantic and spiritual bond. Their relationship was tested when Yngvild was forced to perform a symbolic ritual sacrifice to the goddess Malfin - Goddess of the Darkness to sever Rojden's mental hold over him.
