Welcome to James Kemp's Wiki

This is a collaborative web platform that allows people to edit1) the web pages to provide additional content for some of the stories I have written and the roleplaying games that I am involved in, whether as a player or GM.

There are several namespaces operating slightly different wiki subjects. These are, in no particular order:

  • Skyss - Story Background - a fantasy novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2016.
  • Perfects - background for the near future story and some police roleplaying that I ran in that universe
  • Theocracy of Daprav - A D&D campaign that I ran with Glasgow University Games Society around 2002-3.
  • Jim Wallman's Universe - a roleplaying by e-mail campaign that I play in, this is an unofficial wiki and none of it is canon unless Jim says it is.
    • Interstellar Freelance Unlimited - subset of the Universe pages covering the activities of a mercenary company that we are currently roleplaying every Full Moon.
    • Earth Imperium pages. These cover the activities of the Government of the Solar republic (aka Earth Empire) in Jim's Humanity Will Prevail campaign, including the Earth Imperium News Items.
    • Free Worlds Alliance - covering the activities of another emerging polity in the Humanity Will Prevail campaign. Mostly contributed by Eric Moroney.
    • Universe Background - page collecting the various bits of background info that have come up in various e-mail discussions for the campaigns set in Jim Wallman's Universe.

Comments and complaints to me at webmaster@full-moon.info please.

Background

It is late spring 1953 and Berlin is still in the process of reconstruction, although these days it can afford to occassionally stop and enjoy itself. It's just as well because if it couldn't then the The Golden Gate would be very much out of business.

The Story

Starting from the beginning (almost) and possibly including some things that not everyone knows about (so if so please play as if you don't know about it unless told by one of the characters that does).

The story centres on “The The Golden Gate” an upmarket club which caters to every need. The drinking den plays music and is host to a number of working women who are more than willing. The club sits in the middle of Berlin close to the Potsdammerplatz and the sector boundaries between the British and Soviet sectors. The area surrounding the club has been subject to the RAF's urban redevelopment and has yet to be re-built.

In the recent past there have been some Murders, discoveries in the basement including some Tunnels,

Ute Dietrich

Ute is a relative newcomer to the The Golden Gate.

She came in with a friend looking a bit younger than her declared 21 but still looking old enough to be legal (about 18 or 19 you reckoned). She didn't have proper papers and obviously had lacked some education but was very pretty and pretty cheery, and more to the point keen to do just about anything for some decent money.

On the doctor's standard monthly check-up she was physically fine but looked baffled when quizzed about her last menstrual cycle and had no idea about periods. Even when the doctor explained it to her she really didn't understand what he was on about. It would be late development but in the circumstances of poor diet etc prevailing it isn't that unusual that you would be worried about it overly, provided when she does get a decent diet (which she has for the last fortnight she has been working for you) then you would expect it to normalise.

The other thing that you managed to find out through Betty (the closest thing you have to a madam) is that on the night when it was alleged that she ran through the door she was pretty spooked and Betty had spoken to her afterwards. The reason she had left the main room alone was that she had seen a man that she had stayed with for a bit with whom she had fallen out, naturally she didn't want to draw his attention.

Tunnels

While searching around in the basement of the The Golden Gate the team found an old iron door that was inscribed with a crest from the time of the Kaisers.

This door lead onto a tunnel that formed part of the sewer system of Berlin. On the side of the tunnel there was a walkway that had obviously been deliberately constructed to allow people to move about underground.

In exploring the tunnel they discovered that it was part of a network that run under the government district of the city. While looking much older and being blocked in places from bomb damage it connected a number of important buildings and some lesser ones. There were a load of signs from the war era pointing out the main government and party buildings.

George Ratcliffe

George Ratcliffe is a medical doctor who has recently been discharged from the British Army. He now lives in Berlin and makes his living as the manager of the The Golden Gate, a private club.

This page is publicly accessible and should tell people about the named player character. There is also a private page restricted only to the actual player and GM to keep more accurate notes of what is going on.
